Why Mack Hollins showed up to Super Bowl entrance in handcuffs, prison outfit

Alcatraz Island sits roughly 45 miles north of Levi’s Stadium, its jagged cliffs a far cry from the high-tech heart of Santa Clara, yet the distance did little to deter a theatrical beginning to Super Bowl 60.

As the New England Patriots prepared for their championship clash against the Seattle Seahawks, wide receiver Mack Hollins delivered another unique entrance — a spectacle he has become so accustomed to — further solidifying his reputation as the NFL’s undisputed king of the pregame arrivals.

For the big game, the barefoot veteran once again proved that for him, the walk to the locker room is a stage all its own. Hollins entered the game in shackles and a mask, dressed in a prisoner's outfit with a jersey in his hand. 

Looking for his first Super Bowl ring, Hollins brought out his most theatrical entrance yet.

The immediate thoughts go to Alcatraz, one of the United States' most famous prisons right in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. The mask the wide receiver is wearing has fans comparing him to Hannibal Lecter.

In his hands, Hollins was holding a jersey with "Warriors" on the front, which was later found out to be Mike Vrabel's high school jersey.

This comes after his AFC championship game entrance where he played homage to "The Warriors" movie, which the Patriots have bought into fully.
