Why Kendall Jenner was ‘hesitant’ to strike up romance with Jacob Elordi

Kendall Jenner is taking things slow with Jacob Elordi because of their history.

The supermodel was “a little hesitant at first just because of the friendship” she shares with the “Frankenstein” actor, a source exclusively told Page Six.

“They’ve known each other forever and run in the same circles,” the insider said, noting that while the two have been around each other for years, their dynamic has “definitely shifted recently.”

“They’ve actually been spending time together for a couple months now, just keeping it quiet,” the source explained. “They’ve just been hanging out more and seeing where it goes.”

According to the insider, the reality star is approaching the connection cautiously.

“Kendall’s really private so she’s taking it slow,” the source said. “She’s not the type to jump into something especially with someone she’s been friends with.”

Jenner, 30, and Elordi, 28, have run in the same social circle for years — long before the romance rumors — with the two attending the same events — including Jenner’s 2022 birthday celebration in Paris.

The insider explained that the 818 Tequila founder’s hesitation appears to be easing. 

“She’s more open to it now,” the source added, noting that the pair are “keeping it pretty casual for now but there’s interest there.”

The insider continued, “It didn’t just happen overnight. They’ve been spending more time together lately and it just kind of happened.

“It’s easy between them. There’s no pressure and they’re just seeing what happens.”

The dynamic has also been helped by those in Jenner’s inner circle.

“Kylie [Jenner’s] been around it and is supportive,” the insider said. “She knows Jacob too and thinks they’re a good match.”

Reps for Kendall and Elordi did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

As we previously reported, the entrepreneur and the “Euphoria” actor first sparked dating rumors when Deuxmoi reported that the two were spotted “making out” and “all over each other” at Justin Bieber’s Weekend One Coachella 2026 after-party.

Daily Mail reported earlier this week that the couple has been dating for two months — with Kendall’s sister Kylie, 28, playing matchmaker.

Kendall has previously been linked to NBA star Devin Booker, Bad Bunny and Harry Styles, while Elordi’s past relationships include Olivia Jade and Kaia Gerber.
