Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Reveal Biggest Misconception About Their Relationship
Mark Consuelos is missing his other half.
During the first week of August, Kelly Ripa has been missing from ABC’s Live! With Kelly and Mark talk show as the co-host—who has been part of the talk show series since 2001—is out for summer vacation.
Indeed, Mark has instead been supported by Jenna Dewan and Nobody Wants This star Jackie Tohn this week as his wife takes her much-deserved time off.
And Mark—who got his share of vacation last week—wasted no time making the show’s stand-in guests feel comfortable, and even loved by Kelly from afar.
“When Kelly and I got done meeting you and walked off,” Mark recalled after welcoming Jackie during the August 6 episode, “We said, ‘Wow, she would be a great fill-in.’”
To which the actress replied, “Really? That makes me want to cry. Thank you.”
And while Kelly and Mark have been married for nearly 30 years and share kids Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22, together, it doesn’t come as a total shock to the most devoted Live! fans that they’ve opted for solo vacations.
After all, the couple previously admitted they don’t spend as much time together as one might think.
“We don’t really see each other very much, believe it or not,” Kelly admitted to E! News last month. “It just seems that way because when you see us, we’re on TV together. But we’re not really that.”
Kelly, who has also hosted Live! alongside Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan and Regis Philbin, noted the duo have “very separate schedules and very separate lives.”
“Our interests outside of our talk show in the morning,” she added, “are really quite different from each other.”

While Kelly has said she enjoys spending her free time diving into her new hobby Mahjong, Mark opts for hitting up the golf course. But when they do come together, Mark assured they give each other 100 percent.
“We kind of take turns,” Mark added to E! “No matter what the project is, one of us goes in headfirst, and the other one supports.”

Kelly took a few days off in March 2022 to watch the Wolverines compete in the Division 1 Wrestling Championships in Detroit.
Still a freshman, Joaquin didn't wrestle this time, but still, Kelly said on Live upon her return, "It took years off my life watching these young men."
Generational Health
The whole family finally made it to Greece and Italy in June 2021 after the pandemic had other plans in 2020.
"Last year's graduation trip for our oldest son and niece was delayed long enough to become a graduation trip for the family newborns as well," Kelly shared.
