The New York Mets enter Wednesday with a 28-15 record, which is good for first place in the National League East.
Juan Soto, who signed a 15-year, $765 million deal this offseason, is hitting .255 with eight home runs, 20 RBI and 31 runs scored while playing in every game.
It has been a busy time for Soto, and he has brought Mets fans to Citi Field at a high rate.
On Wednesday, the Mets revealed their starting lineup for the series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates. For the first time all year, Soto's name was not in it.

Just a routine day off today for Juan Soto, his first of the season. Carlos Mendoza said Soto fought him on it, but the Mets manager is "playing the big picture, the long game here."
In 2023, Soto played every single game as a member of the San Diego Padres. In 2024, he played in 157 games in the regular season with the New York Yankees, so Soto is a consistent name in the lineup year in and year out.
This is the sixth straight game for the Mets before a much-needed day off on Thursday. After that, it's the time: A three-game series against the Yankees in New York as Soto returns to the Bronx.
