In 1992, RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa came together to form a hip-hop group that defied the "West Coast" hip-hop style that dominated in the 1990s and were pioneers of an East Coast version.
