Why is Chris Pratt a Seahawks fan? Explaining actor's Seattle fandom despite Minnesota roots

1 hour ago 3

Celebrities are often put on a pedestal, but in the sports world, they are just like us.

They thrive when the team thrives, and suffer through the losses just like the rest of the fan base. Some celebrities are way more open about their fandoms, while others support from afar, but make sure they are in attendance for any big games. Actor Chris Pratt has a busy career and personal life, but he is known to make time for his beloved Seattle Seahawks

Pratt was born in Minnesota but spent most of his childhood in Seattle, which meant rooting for the Seahawks and being part of the 12th Man fanbase. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor was also charged with introducing Seattle at Super Bowl 60 thanks to his fandom.

Here is more on why Pratt is a Seahawks fan.

Why is Chris Pratt a Seahawks fan?

Pratt is a Seahawks fan because he grew up outside of Seattle. He was born in Minnesota and lived in Alaska in his early years, but was in Washington by the time he was seven. Pratt lived in the area throughout high school, graduating from Lake Stevens High School in 1997. He tried to attend a local community college but dropped out midway through his first semester.

Pratt was asked in a 2015 interview about his Seahawks fandom and being part of the famed 12th man. "From the 12s all around the world supporting from home on game day to the fans at Century Link who literally make game play more difficult for our opponents because we have the loudest stadium, being a 12th Fan means we're more than just fans, we're part of the team. We feed the beast."

He was also asked about why Seattle fans are so passionate for the Seahawks. "The NFC West used to be a joke, and Seattle was the furthest away from the rest of the country. We'd get disrespect, and it rains a lot so we're mad! And also our team is just that: a team. We have that old school approach to the game. Synergy. There's no divas. Everyone does their part. We're blue collar that way. This team is dangerous and has been overlooked and disrespected for a while. We don't play that."
