The FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremonies for the 2026 edition of the tournament got underway on Thursday afternoon.
Except if you were in the United States and wanted to watch, you weren't going to find it on the logical Fox channel.
Fox is showing the opening game between Mexico and South Africa.
Fox is also showing a long-lasting studio show before that game.
But what Fox doesn't have on its TV schedule for the day is the opening ceremonies.

Why isn't Fox showing the World Cup opening ceremonies?
There's no official explanation for this, but Fox clearly decided it wanted to serve its viewers by talking about the upcoming tournament rather than showing the festivities.
Whether they're right or wrong about that, it's a clear decision they made. It wouldn't have shocked anyone if they chose to show the ceremonies.
Instead, fans are left looking elsewhere.

Telemundo for the win.
How to watch World Cup opening ceremonies not on Fox
The ceremonies are available in the United States on Spanish-language channel Telemundo, which is part of most television providers.
Anyone with just over-the-air, local channels won't be able to watch, though, because Telemundo isn't a part of that.
