Enes Kanter Freedom continued to cause controversy in the WNBA, this time at a Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game on Sunday night.
Kanter Freedom was in attendance courtside in Chicago when Sky player Natasha Cloud got into a shouting match with him over his opinions. While Kanter Freedom appeared to just be attending the game, his motivation for attending the game was more than just watching basketball.
The former NBA player has been in the news this month for inserting himself into WNBA controversies as the league deals with noise beyond the basketball court. Here's what Kanter Freedom did on Sunday night.

What did Enes Kanter Freedom do?
Weeks after Kanter Freedom announced his intention to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft, the former NBA player sat courtside at the Sky vs. Fever game with a shirt that seemed to have the definition of a woman written on it. Sky player Natasha Cloud noticed Kanter Freedom's presence and immediately jawed at him, leading to a scrum during the game.

Enes Kanter Freedom vs. Natasha Cloud altercation
Kanter Freedom claims that he was simply watching the game and cheering on Fever player Sophie Cunningham when Cloud started yelling at him that Cunningham's "not gonna sleep with" him. Kanter Freedom then said he told Cloud he was trying to "protect women's sports," which is when Cloud began cursing at him even more.
— Underdog WNBA (@UnderdogWNBA) August 24, 2026Cloud had to be held back by her teammates, as she was clearly heated and frustrated with Kanter Freedom. After the situation settled down, Kanter Freedom was escorted out of the arena.

— Tony East (@TonyREast) August 24, 2026Cloud is the same player who called out those who threw sex toys on the court during Friday night's Dream vs. Valkyries game. Therefore, it's not a real surprise that she was the one to confront Kanter Freedom during the game.
Why was Enes Kanter Freedom at Fever vs. Sky game?
Kanter Freedom's appearance at the Fever vs. Sky game was a continuation of his public stance against transgender women competing in women's sports. The former NBA player has already declared his intention to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft, claiming the league's rules would allow him to play. He then wore a shirt with the definition of a woman written on it to Sunday's game.
Kanter Freedom claims, though, that he is simply protecting women.
I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN!
Let that sink in, AMERICA! 🇺🇸

— Enes Kanter FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) August 10, 2026Kanter Freedom's argument is that the WNBA doesn't define a woman in its rules, so he can join the league as long as he says he's a woman. Since making that announcement, Kanter Freedom has publicly pushed his opinion, leading to his attendance at the Sky vs. Fever game on Sunday night.
