Why Cowboys should target Minkah Fitzpatrick after Christian Parker's comments

Christian Parker is making waves in his first week as the sheriff of the Dallas defense.

At his introductory press conference, the new Cowboys defensive coordinator made some of his priorities clear.

One comment specifically could link him to an All-Pro safety.

Why Minkah Fitzpatrick would fit in Christian Parker's defense

During the presser, Christian Parker was asked about the importance of a nickel in his defensive scheme.

"Very important.. he's a corner sometimes, he's a safety sometimes, he's a backer sometimes. He's a defensive end when he's blitzing," Parker described. "You want to have a guy who has natural instincts and ability to feel the game and play football... That's definitely an important guy to a good defense."

Parker described a player who was once a pillar of the Cowboys' defense: Jourdan Lewis.

But ever since Lewis left in free agency, Dallas has been looking for a nickel corner who can be a safety or even play in the front seven.

Enter Minkah Fitzpatrick. The three-time All-Pro has been in trade rumors and could be the perfect fit for what Parker is describing.

Would they be willing to accommodate their new, 34-year-old defensive coordinators wishes? If they do, Cowboys fans will be expecting results.
