Bronny James had put together consecutive solid appearances, albeit in short minutes, for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Two games ago, he scored eight points in LeBron's return to Cleveland, drilling two 3-pointers and getting a dunk.
Bronny then got another dunk en route to four points against the Washington Wizards.
On Sunday night, the Lakers got a showcase game on NBC against the New York Knicks..
And it's not like Bronny plays a lot, but on this night, he wouldn't be playing at all.

Why isn't Bronny James playing tonight?
On this night, Bronny James is out due to injury.
The Sunday night matchup with the Knicks featured Bronny on the injury report in advance of the game.
And midway through Sunday, Bronny was officially ruled out with left lower leg soreness.

It prevented even a chance for him to keep his little scoring surge alive.
The Lakers will next play Tuesday in Brooklyn against the hapless Nets, which would seem to be a good opportunity to get Bronny on the floor.
He'll have to heal up first to get that opportunity.
