The Hot Topics Table looked a tad different on The View on Monday—and so did the audience—due to the snowy weather.

Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and guest host Amanda Carpenter were in the studio to host this morning’s episode to an empty studio audience, while Whoopi Goldberg made a virtual appearance.

“Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to The View y’all… I’m coming to you remotely because of this crazy historic blizzard that is slamming the East Coast has snowed me in,” she shared. “We even told the audience, ‘Stay home!'”

As footage of the ongoing snowstorm appeared onscreen, Goldberg added, “I mean, c’mon! Look at it out there! It’s a little nutty.”

Goldberg still took a moment to welcome Carpenter, a “conservative commentator and writer-editor at Project Democracy,” who will be taking Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s seat this week amid her maternity leave.

“Hey! Thank you so much for having me back,” Carpenter, who was a guest host on The View in 2021, shared.

Carpenter noted that she’s “transitioned into advocacy work” since last appearing on the ABC daytime talk show, and is “very happy to be back at the table.”

“[I’m] still into promoting conservative policies, but since the rise of [President Donald] Trump, I’ve come to realize that nothing matters if we don’t have the rule of law,” she explained. “So that’s where I’m devoting all of my time now, and I have a lot of work. So thank you for having me.”

Goldberg replied, “Well done. Well said, too.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
