Chiefs' two-time Super Bowl champion pays the price for horror season

6 hours ago 4

We are at the stage of the offseason where NFL teams are making key roster decisions and figuring out who they want to keep, and who they don't, and the Kansas City Chiefs are no different.

And they are already doing some moving and shaking with the franchise, per Ari Meirov, releasing two-time Super Bowl champion Mike Danna.

The move also clears $8.9 million in cap space for the Chiefs as Andy Reid's team now begins the road back to the NFL summit.

And Danna won't be part of it.

Danna pays price for poor 2025

Like most Chiefs players, last season won't be looked at too kindly by historians.

For Danna, he posted just one sack, three tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits in 15 games, easily the worst return of his career.

So, while his production might have been a key reason why he was cut, the Chiefs might have also been looking at what they could save by cutting him, and $8.9 million is a decent chunk of change.

The NFL is a brutal business, and Danna won't be the last player to see his future with a team end over the coming weeks.
