Whoopi Goldberg Shocked By Trump, GOP Lawmakers’ Response To Biden’s Cancer Diagnosis

Whoopi Goldberg did not have President Donald Trump writing a positive message to former President Joe Biden on her 2025 Bingo card.

On this morning’s episode of The View, the ladies sent Biden and his family well wishes after he announced over the weekend that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. When it was time for Goldberg to speak, she took the opportunity to address conspiracy theorists who think he was hiding his diagnosis while he was still in the White House.

“I want to point out to people that had this been the case while he was president, there’s no way you wouldn’t have known because he would’ve had to have these treatments,” she said. “This is not something he was carrying around or he was hiding. As Ana [Navarro] said, we know about his struggles. We know about his struggles and now we know about this one.”

The longtime moderator then commended “the people who cut their tongues off and said, ‘Get well soon,'” likely referring to Trump, who wrote an uplifting message to his former opponent via Truth Social following the news.

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” he wrote on the social media site. “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Goldberg told her co-hosts that “it did something” for her to see the outpouring of love for Biden, even from those who have been most critical of his administration.

“I’m saying the ones who did it, who were shocking, when you read the names it was like, ‘[Gasp]. You said something good? Oh, my God! It turns out that you have a heart,'” Goldberg continued. “So, there is reason to have faith. We actually all are suffering together in many ways. We’re not alone and that’s a good thing.”

Other Republican lawmakers who have posted in support of Biden include House Speaker Mike Johnson, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Sen. Susan Collins.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
