Yosuke Asaji won The International Series’ Moutai Singapore Open 2025 on Sunday in a playoff. He beat South Korea’s Jeunghun Wang in a playoff to clinch the title at the Singapore Island Country Club. With the win, the 32-year-old became the first Japanese golfer in 49 years to win in Singapore.

Asaji started off his Singapore Open campaign with a 67 round on Thursday. He followed it up with a 70 to make the cut. He clinched the lead on Friday with a 65 round, his lowest of the week and finished with another 67 on Sunday to finish 19-under 269. Wang came from behind, recording rounds of 64-70-67-68 to force a playoff.

However, Asaji claimed victory in the first playoff hole at The International Series’ penultimate event for the season.

For the unversed, Asaji, who arrived at Singapore Open ranked 13th on the International Series rankings, climbed 11 spots to take the second place, behind leader Scott Vincent. The Tokyo native currently holds 285 points while his Zimbabwean rival leads with 325 points. It is pertinent to note that the top-two players on the season-long International Series rankings qualify for the 2026 LIV Golf series.

Wang, who lost the Singapore Open playoff, settled for 12th place on the ranking before the series heads to Saudi Arabia for its final event in two weeks.
