The Cowboys were riding a lot of momentum into a Week 14 game against the Detroit Lions. Dallas needed the win to improve its playoff chances, but lost 44-30.
The Cowboys aren't eliminated from playoff contention, but they don't control their own destiny. Dallas needs a strong end to the season, and also needs the Philadelphia Eagles to go on a losing streak for a shot at the NFC East title and the automatic playoff bid.
Minnesota needs a whole lot of help from around the league to make the playoffs, but if the Vikings get eliminated earlier in the day, that just makes them all the more dangerous for Dallas.
