The Dallas Cowboys will host the Minnesota Vikings for a primetime NFC matchup in Week 15. The game was chosen for "Sunday Night Football" as both teams cling to the hope of still making the playoffs.
The Vikings had been struggling ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Things finally clicked for Minnesota, and fans saw their potential as the Vikings beat the Commanders 31-0. The only negative for Minnesota in the game was that star wide receiver Justin Jefferson was again unable to get on the same page with quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
The Cowboys were riding a lot of momentum into a Week 14 game against the Detroit Lions. Dallas needed the win to improve its playoff chances, but lost 44-30.
The Cowboys aren't eliminated from playoff contention, but they don't control their own destiny. Dallas needs a strong end to the season, and also needs the Philadelphia Eagles to go on a losing streak for a shot at the NFC East title and the automatic playoff bid.
Minnesota needs a whole lot of help from around the league to make the playoffs, but if the Vikings get eliminated earlier in the day, that just makes them all the more dangerous for Dallas.
