Who is Jarrett Stidham? Meet Broncos QB replacing Bo Nix in AFC Championship Game vs. Patriots

1 hour ago 3

The Denver Broncos will square off against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, and Jarrett Stidham will be under center for Sean Payton's squad.

With starting quarterback Bo Nix suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Denver's divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills, Stidham will be thrown into action with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Stidham will be leading the Broncos' offense in the biggest game of the season on Sunday, so let's get to know the 29-year-old quarterback.

Who is Jarrett Stidham?

Stidham entered the league in 2019 as a fourth-round pick by the New England Patriots. He started his collegiate career at Baylor before transferring to Auburn for two years, tossing 48 touchdowns to 13 interceptions with nine scores on the ground in three college seasons.

In three years with the Patriots, Stidham barely saw the field, posting just two touchdowns to four interceptions in eight game appearances. The 6-foot-3 signal-caller was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2022 offseason.

Stidam spent just one year with the Raiders, going 0-2 in two starts before signing with the Broncos in 2023 free agency.

Since joining the Broncos, Stidham hasn't seen the field much. However, the veteran has played a key role in Nix's development and has proven to be a valuable piece to Denver's quarterback room.

It's the present day. Stidham hasn't thrown a pass in a regular game in two years, but the Broncos' Super Bowl hopes now rest on the former Bill Belichick draft pick of the Patriots.
