The Chicago White Sox have been having one of the more exciting seasons of any team around Major League Baseball.
They came into the 2026 season projected to be one of the worst teams in MLB, but so far, they're 32-28, only 1.5 games out of the AL Central lead, and 3.0 games up in the Wild Card at the start of June.
With how great things are going, Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report is predicting that the White Sox will act a bit differently than normal at the trade deadline.
"White Sox go on a shopping spree," Miller predicts. "... But if they're still in the hunt in two months' time, look for the White Sox to be one of the most aggressive buyers."
Miller is predicting that the White Sox will be major trade deadline buyers, acquiring talent to improve the team rather than trading their players for prospect packages. This trade deadline outcome would be a dream scenario for the fanbase.
White Sox trade deadline prediction is a dream scenario for fans
Munetaka Murakami looks like a superstar, and while in other years he might be someone the White Sox trade away, now is the time to actually acquire talent to better surround him with good players.
With the White Sox's low payroll, they can take on some hefty contracts, giving them a bit more flexibility when it comes to acquiring talent this season in trades.
Miller linked the White Sox to Mike Trout, though such a trade is not likely. However, if the White Sox are buyers, adding outfield help is a must.
If they could add some outfield help and improve the starting rotation, while also improving the bullpen like every contender likely tries to do at the deadline, then the White Sox could become legitimate postseason contenders this year.

Murakami is awesome, Davis Martin has looked like an ace this season, Colson Montgomery is great, Miguel Vargas is breaking out, and there are so many others who are having solid seasons for the White Sox so far.
As opposed to selling at the deadline, like the White Sox are normally set to do, Miller is predicting the White Sox to act as serious buyers.
This prediction would have the White Sox going on a shopping spree, which would be an incredible outcome for the young, ascendant White Sox squad during the 2026 season.
