White Sox's biggest trade deadline need links them to 3.66 ERA former Cy Young

The Chicago White Sox are an up-and-coming team with a fun, exciting young roster.

If the White Sox decide to go for it this season, they'll need to make a few moves at the trade deadline to truly compete with the top contenders in the American League.

Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller believes their biggest deadline need is adding at least one pitcher for their starting rotation.

For this team, "going for it" would mean beefing up what would presently be a postseason rotation of Davis Martin, Sean Burke, Erick Fedde, and Noah Schultz/bullpen game," Miller wrote.

Even Fedde, who has pitched in the Majors for nine seasons, has never made a postseason appearance. Experience matters in the highest-pressure moments.

"And with a payroll that is roughly half of what it had been just 3-4 years ago, it's hard to imagine money would be an issue if a Robbie Ray, Sandy Alcantara, or Nathan Eovaldi becomes available," Miller added.

Any one of the starters Miller listed would be a great addition for the White Sox. Just based on speculation, Alcantara feels like the most likely to be traded this season.

The right-hander's contract expires at the end of the year, and the Miami Marlins face an uphill battle to claim one of the three NL Wild Card spots.

Now more than ever feels like the best time for the Marlins to take advantage of Alcantara's worth in the trade market, and the White Sox should be interested.
