The Chicago White Sox have re-signed an outfielder after the 26-year-old was previously designated for assignment by the AL Central club.
On Monday, the White Sox announced that Dustin Harris had re-joined the organization on a minor league deal.
The former Texas Rangers prospect was claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros and collected seven hits in 36 trips to the plate before another DFA. Harris opted to elect free agency instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A.
"Harris was once a notable prospect in the Rangers system, but hasn’t found success in the big leagues yet," Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors wrote. "He’s always had a bat-first profile with strong contact skills but power that plays closer to average."

Harris has hit two career Major League home runs, both in a Rangers uniform from 2024-25.
There may be a difficult path to playing time in MLB for the left-handed hitter.
Austin Hays and Everson Pereira are nearing returns from the injured list, and the White Sox have outfield depth on the bench in the form of Randal Grichuk and Derek Hill.
