Where Winds Meet walkthrough: How to complete The Man in the Well quest

The Man in the Well is a hidden Encounter quest that you can come across while exploring General's Shrine in Where Winds Meet. As the name suggests, it is a mission about an NPC you find in a well, and he asks you to bring a few different items. Completing the quest will give you several in-game rewards, including Echo Jades, Coins, and EXP.

How to complete The Man in the Well quest in Where Winds Meet

Use the General's Shrine Boundary Stone and go northwest during the Zi hour. Approach the well to hear strange noises to start The Man in the Well quest in Where Winds Meet. After talking to the NPC, advance the in-game time and speak with him again during Zi hour.

Get a portion of meat stew and throw it into the well

Go to the food stall in Heaven's Pier and get the plate of meat stew. Next, return to General's Shrine during Zi hour and throw the stew into the well.

Take an old piece of clothing that you no longer wear and throw it into the well

Go to the house in Heaven's Pier and pick up the red clothing under the table. Return to the well and throw the clothing. Once the cutscene ends, turn around and talk to the Street Urchin.

Teach the greedy Street Urchin a lesson

During the conversation with the Street Urchin, you'll get the option to either give him some money or not. You can pick whichever option you want, as it won't affect the outcome of the quest, and you will end up fighting him anyway. Once that is done, go to the well to talk to Li Wa, but you won't get any reply from him.

Go to the well in two days to check

Advance the in-game time by two days and go to the well to check on Li Wa.

Check around for anything unusual and ask the Street Urchin what he's doing here

Turn around to find the Street Urchin and speak with him. Next, advance the in-game time to Zi hour of the second day.

Go to Blissful Retreat to retrieve the wine and ask the beggar boy what he's doing here

Go to the house in Blissful Retreat again and pick up the vintage wine from the shelf. Next, exit the house to find a beggar boy who will steal the wine from you and smash the jar before pretending to be sick. Stay near the kid and wait until he stops pretending.

Head over to the well in Blissful Retreat to meet Li Wa. However, you will unfortunately find his corpse. Investigate the body and the surrounding area to complete The Man in the Well quest in Where Winds Meet. As a reward, you will get the following:
