Where Winds Meet walkthrough: How to complete Correspondent Eastern Herald quest

Correspondent Eastern Herald in Where Winds Meet is an Exploration quest that you can find in the Velvet Shade Sect area in Kaifeng City. During the quest, you ask a correspondent of the Eastern Herald newspaper to let you meet the Pavilion Chief, and he'll tell you to submit an assignment to the chief. Completing this mission will unlock the Wind Whispers feature, where you can post stories.

How to complete the Correspondent Eastern Herald quest in Where Winds Meet

You can start the Correspondent Eastern Herald quest by talking to Qiao Yize in the Velvet Shade Sect area in Kiafeng City. He will give you an assignment and some clues to complete it.

Visit the informant

Talk to the informant (Image via NetEase)

Go to the location marked on the map and speak with the NPC named Liu Zhi to get intel on the scoop. At the end of the conversation, you'll get two options, and you must select the first one to enter the memory.

See what the commotion is about and search for the traces of the monster

Head straight to find a few NPCs and talk to them. They'll tell you about a monster with white fur. After talking to them, take the right turn to track the traces of the monster. This will trigger a cutscene of a man wrapped in a bath towel jumping over the buildings.

Follow the man and wait for the cutscene to end. Once that is done, stand on the marked location and make his portrait.

Return to Qiao Ziye

Submit the article (Image via NetEase)

Return to Qiao and write a story using the photo. Submitting the article will also give you the Pen to Paper achievement.

Meet the tower master

After talking to Qiao, enter the room and talk to Du Gantang. This will complete the Correspondent Eastern Herald quest in Where Winds Meet, and you'll get Wind Whispers, which unlocks the Rumor System.

How to use the Rumor System

Here are the steps to write an article and spread rumors:

• Open Wandering Paths in the main menu.
• Go to the Eastern Herald option in Casual Co-op.
• Hit Space to open Wind Whispers and click on Draft an article.
• Select an image and write a Title and Main Story.

Once that is done, submit the story to Eastern Herald.
