"Golf's Longest Day" is the official beginning of the U.S. Open, as players seek to earn the last few spots in the third major of the year later this month.

While this year's U.S. Open returns to Shinnecock Hills on Long Island, New York, the U.S. Open qualifiers will take place across a variety of golf courses in North America. The final golfers with hopes of competing on Father's Day weekend will need to produce a strong 36 holes of golf to secure their spot in a few weeks.

Many big name golfers will be joined by other surprising entries in this year's U.S. Open qualifiers, which will take place across the entire day on Monday.

• BellenIsles Country Club (East Course), Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
• Century Country Club and Golf Club of Purchase, Purchase, New York
• Gaston Country Club, Gastonia, North Carolina
• Lakes Golf and Country Club, Westerville, Ohio
• Hawks Ridge Golf Club, Ball Ground, Georgia

There were also already three other completed qualifiers at Walton Health Golf Club in Tadworth, United Kingdom, Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas Texas and Hino Golf Club in Shiga, Japan.
