Upcoming Korean BL drama Thunder Cloud Rain Storm will premiere on November 28, 2025. The series features Yoon Ji-sung, formerly of Wanna One, alongside actor Jeong Ri-u in the lead roles. The series will be available to stream exclusively on Wavve.

Thunder Cloud Rain Storm is adapted from a well known Boy Love novel and webtoon Thundercloud Rainstorm (천둥구름 비바람) by Caesim. The webtoon has also gained popularity and holds a strong 4.8-star rating. The plot follows a man at rock bottom with no money, no home, and no prospects. His life shifts when he meets a cousin, who he hasn’t seen in years, offers him a place to stay. From this quiet act of kindness grows a bond that shapes the heart of the story.

Thunder Cloud Rain Storm: A dark, intense BL adaptation led by Yoon Ji-sung and Jeong Ri-u

The story of Thunder Cloud Rain Storm follows Lee Il-jo, an illegitimate son who is mistreated by his half brother Seo Jeong In during their father’s funeral. After this incident, Il-jo seeks support from his cousin Seo Jeong-han, whom he has not seen for several years. Jeong-han discovers that Il-jo has been struggling to survive and offers him a place to stay.

Their situation begins to change when Jeong-han becomes drunk one night and impulsively kisses Il-jo. Not long after this, Il-jo is admitted to the hospital due to gallstones and Jeong-han pays the surgery fee of four million won. He then presents Il-jo with a contract stating that Il-jo must repay the cost "with his body" and includes the statement that all of Il-jo’s rights belong to Jeong-han. This also binds Il-jo to continue living in Jeong-han’s home and to look after him.

Although Jeong-han has always kept an indifferent distance, Il-jo’s innocence and desperate loyalty start to influence him. Their bond grows closer both emotionally and physically, and Jeong-han develops a strong sense of possessiveness toward him.

At the same time, Il-jo begins to feel drawn to Jeong-han as they live together, which further complicates their already difficult relationship. Jeong-han initially insists that he has no interest in dating, but circumstances continue to build tension between them, drawing them into a complicated and messy connection.

Thunder Cloud Rain Storm features Wanna One's Yoon Ji-sung in the role of Lee Il-jo, while Jeong Ri-u takes on the character of Seo Jeong-han. The narrative centers entirely on Il-jo and Jeong-han as they reunite after years apart and attempt to navigate shifting emotions, growing attraction, and the consequences of their choices. The unfolding events leave viewers questioning whether their story will reach a hopeful conclusion or collapse into chaos.

The trailer for Thunder Cloud Rain Storm opens with Jeong-han questioning how far Il-jo can fall in his current helplessness. The footage then shifts to the two beginning to live under the same roof. A friend of Jeong-han appears expressing surprise that he has someone staying with him. Il-jo, meanwhile, is shown wondering why Jeong-han never asks him to move out.

A brief scene follows where Jeong-han and Il-jo's contract arrangement begins. Jeong-han is seen telling Il-jo,

"I told you clearly. All your rights,they belong to me."

Another character is then seen warning Il-jo, saying they are concerned about his well being. The trailer continues with a series of short clips showing the two living together, sharing hugs, and experiencing moments of growing closeness. The tone then shifts when Il-jo tells Jeong-han that because Il-jo has feelings for him, it does not give Jeong-han permission to treat him however he wants. In response, Jeong-han casually remarks that he is uninterested in what Il-jo likes or dislikes, and simply expects Il-jo to follow his instructions.

The final stretch of the trailer presents a mixture of intense moments, featuring glimpses of their intimacy, scenes of physical conflict, Il-jo in tears and a shot of someone throwing a punch before the trailer concludes. Thunder Cloud Rain Storm comes from director Min Chae-yeon, known for the BL title Business as Usual (2025).
