NL Central contenders clash on "Friday Night Baseball," as the Brewers host the division-leading Cubs to kickstart an important early season series.
After missing the playoffs in each of the last four seasons, Chicago looks reinvigorated, fueled in part by an offseason trade for Kyle Tucker. The All-Star outfielder has certainly looked the part: Through his first 30 games, Tucker has seven home runs with a .965 OPS, which would be a career-high.
Tucker isn't the only Cubs outfielder creating headlines. Pete Crow-Armstrong, the do-it-all center fielder, has always had a superb glove and sensational speed. Now, the bat has caught up, too; Crow-Armstrong enters the weekend with an .813 OPS and six homers.
Milwaukee has left an 0-4 start in the rearview mirror, reasserting itself as a playoff contender. Twenty-one-year-old Jackson Chourio has his OPS up to .819 as he builds off an impressive rookie campaign.
The Brewers have taken the season series from the Cubs in three of the last four years. Chicago's quest to win the NL Central starts with dethroning Milwaukee, which has captured the division in three of the last four years.
