Who will challenge the Liberty for the WNBA crown this season?
With two-time league MVP Breanna Stewart and Finals MVP Jonquel Jones once again leading the way, New York is among the teams favored to win the WNBA title. But teams across the league have made key changes with championship aspirations in mind. Who will rise to the top as the 2025 season gets underway Friday?
Among the teams gunning for a title this season is the Indiana Fever, led by 2024 Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark. Indiana added a new head coach in Stephanie White and championship winners in DeWanna Bonner and Sydney Colson.
In the Western Conference, the Las Vegas Aces look to reclaim their spot as the top dog in the WNBA. The Aces did lose a couple key pieces in Kelsey Plum and Tiffany Hayes, but added new and established stars like Jewell Loyd, Aaliyah Nye and Elizabeth Kitley.
The new belle of the ball, No. 1 pick Paige Bueckers, begins her first season with the Dallas Wings Friday night. While the Wings may not have championship aspirations, the team is looking to get back to the postseason after missing out in 2024.
