Where Nets finished in NBA draft lottery standings after season mercifully comes to end

The Nets are moving on from the tanking season to the true season.

From losing to the lottery.

Brooklyn is mercifully done with tanking, put out of their misery with a 136-101 beating at the hands of Toronto before 18,778 at Scotiabank Arena.

The Nets (20-62) finished with the third-worst record in the league, and the third-best odds in the lottery.

They have a 14 percent chance at winning, and 40.1 percent odds of a Top 3 pick in a loaded draft featuring AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Cam Boozer.

Tyson Etienne led Brooklyn with 20 points, while Chaney Johnson added 16 points and 13 rebounds. EJ Liddell added 17 points and rookie point guard Ben Saraf 15.

Toronto improved to 46-36 and leapfrogged Atlanta into fifth in the Eastern Conference, now set to face the Cavaliers in the first round.

They sent the Hawks into a first-round playoff matchup against the third-seeded Knicks.

RJ Barrett had a game-high 26 points for Toronto, and Brandon Ingram 25.
