Jodie Sweetin revealed where she and the rest of the Full House cast stand with former costars Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen after the two didn't return for Fuller House.

Jodie Sweetin has a full heart of love for Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
The Full House alum shared that she and her former costars are still friends, despite the twins not returning for the 2016 revival Fuller House.
“Everyone's on good terms with them,” Jodie explained on Taboo’s Comics and Kicks podcast June 30, “but they were 8 years old when this show stopped. Then, they did all of those movies and all that stuff that I don't know that they really loved doing all the time."
And as Jodie noted, acting “isn't what they love.”
It was also different for Mary-Kate and Ashley, because while Jodie had her formative years from ages 5 to 13 on the series, the Olsen twins were only 9 months old when they started filming.
"They have a different relationship to being on set all the time,” the 44-year-old explained. “They might not remember being 2 years old and having us all carrying them around and doing this stuff, but I do.”
Besides, Jodie said the sisters are now “into fashion” and “don't want attention.” That’s why the Fuller House‘s first episode included a cheeky nod to the notoriously private duo, now 40.
“It's the first episode of Fuller House and the whole family's back. We're standing in the kitchen and we're talking about all being together again," Jodie recalled. "And then we say something about, 'Well, if only Michelle were here, or Michelle's off running her fashion empire in New York.' And then we all just kind of looked to the camera like, 'Uh-huh.’”

Jodie reiterated the joke was not a dig at the twins, but instead a funny way to mention their absence.
“You have to address it,” she said. “You can’t just not say anything.”
As for Mary-Kate and Ashley, the two never imagined the kind of success they’d have in fashion after spending years in front of the camera.
"I don't know how conscious we were of what we were doing at that time, to be really honest," Ashley explained to I-D in 2021. "We had just moved to New York. We were 18 years old and I think what we did know was that we wanted to take that time to take a break from what we were previously doing and to explore things that interested us, and explore what life has to offer."
