Fans showered WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert with disapproval as she presented the Liberty with the Commissioner’s Cup trophy after Tuesday’s 93-85 win against the Las Vegas Aces

The chorus of boos hurled from every corner of Barclays Center was deafening and relentless. There was no mistaking Engelbert was the target of the fans’ disdain. The jeers started when she grabbed the microphone and didn’t let up until she handed it off.

It was the second time in eight months Engelbert has been booed so spectacularly.

Even after helping secure a historic collective bargaining agreement earlier this year, Engelbert, the WNBA’s first commissioner, can’t catch a break.
