LeBron James' storied career has taken him all over the country, allowing him to experience living in different locations.

The Akron, Ohio, native has spent much of his life in Ohio, but he's also found himself in Miami, Los Angeles, and now New York. As James has made more money than any other player in NBA history, the veteran has been able to collect residences across the country.

When James chose to join the Philadelphia 76ers, it marked the first time that he didn't have to move his family with him to a new city. As a result, James will be using multiple residences throughout the season while he hopes to bring a title back to Philadelphia.

Here's a breakdown of James' different houses.

Where does LeBron James live?

James has residences in four different states spanning his NBA career, but he mainly lives in one or two of those places.

California

James and his family first moved to Los Angeles when he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, and the house now serves as his main residence. James actually first bought a home in Brentwood in 2015, but he upgraded to another house in the area right before he joined the Lakers.

In 2020, James bought a second house in Los Angeles, spending $36.75 million for another place in Beverly Hills that spans 2.5 acres. According to the Robb Report, James demolished the residence in 2023 to build up something new that includes two houses and a variety of different perks.

James and his wife, Savannah, gave Vogue a tour of their Los Angeles house prior to the 2026-27 season beginning.

Ohio

James has a house in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, that he has kept despite no longer playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. James first bought a house in the area for $2.1 million after he was drafted in 2003, but he has since built a new residence that is even bigger and more extravagant.

James' current house in Akron is a 30,000-square-foot mansion valued at around $10 million that includes several amenities like a recording studio, a movie theater, an aquarium, a barber shop, a bowling alley, and a sports bar.

New York

Upon joining the Philadelphia 76ers this season, James decided he would live in New York and commute to 76ers games while using a helicopter. James is not the first 76ers player to do this, but it certainly is unusual for a Philadelphia player to be living in New York during the season.

The helicopter LeBron James is using to commute from Philadelphia to NYC has made a dozen roundtrips between the two cities in the past week. James is flying in a Fanatics helicopter, which he has access to in his deal with the company, a spokesperson for him confirmed to FOS.

James reportedly lives in a penthouse apartment near a helipad, which he is likely renting, as his 76ers' contract is for just two seasons.

Florida

James first moved to Coconut Grove in Miami when he joined the Miami Heat in 2010, and he sold the residence when he left the team in 2014. According to The Real Deal, James bought a condo in Sunny Beach Isles in 2022, giving him access to the Miami area.
