He’s played for baseball teams across the country, but where does Justin Verlander live now? The former MLB pitcher, who is headed for retirement after recently playing his last game, has built a real estate portfolio alongside his wife, supermodel and actress Kate Upton. While he’s played for the Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, New York Mets, and San Francisco Giants, Verlander chose New York as a home base, purchasing a penthouse with Upton on the Upper East Side in 2023.
The couple, who married in 2017, now share their homes with one daughter, Genevieve, and one son, Bellamy. Verlander and Upton have focused on making their spaces family-friendly but still full of personality. “There’s no off-limit zone in this apartment,” Upton told AD when the magazine showcased the family’s Manhattan home in 2026. “Everything the kids can get in, can get dirty, can have fun with. That was really important to us. We live hard in this apartment—and it still looks great.”

Beverly Hills Mansion
In 2016, Verlander and Upton purchased a four-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion in Beverly Hills for $5.25 million that came with an impressive pedigree. The 5,521-square-foot traditional-style house was built in 1976 and sits on a 1.5-acre gated property in Benedict Canyon, complete with rose gardens, a tennis court, and a pool and spa. The estate boasts a long list of past celebrity owners including musician Kenny G, tennis legend Pete Sampras, Charlie’s Angels actress Kate Jackson, TV producer-director William Asher, and Batman producer Jon Peters.
Verlander and Upton updated the home, completely redoing the eat-in kitchen with touches such as a marble-topped island and a breakfast nook. In 2022 the couple put the home on the market for $11.7 million, ultimately selling the property for $11 million, more than double what they paid in 2016. They continued the tradition of celebrity ownership, selling the estate to actor Timothée Chalamet.
Riverfront Florida home
Just before putting their California home on the market, the couple found a new home across the country in the Sunshine State. In 2021, after renting a home in Palm Beach Gardens, Verlander and Upton bought a Jupiter, Florida, mansion for $6.55 million. Set on 1.25 acres along the Loxahatchee River, the 4,600-square-foot, four-bedroom home was built in 2015 and features a putting green, boat dock, and a pool with fiber-optic lighting.
This wasn’t the couple’s first Florida purchase. In 2020 they bought a 2.19-acre riverfront lot in Jupiter for $3.45 million.
