The BBC announced that a two-part Christmas special, set in Hong Kong and Poplar, will once again air before the season officially begins, and a prequel series, set in Poplar during World War II, is coming to the BBC in 2026. Additionally, a Call the Midwife film is also in production! The movie will be set overseas in 1972 and feature characters from the show.
