Charley Hull once took part in a quickfire Q&A session where she was asked to choose between two of Liverpool’s greatest footballers of all time—Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher. Without much hesitation, the English golfer picked Gerrard as her favorite.
The moment came during a 20-question round, where Hull answered fun and lighthearted prompts. While she didn’t explain her choice, many fans would likely agree with her pick.
Gerrard is widely seen as one of the greatest midfielders in English Premier League history. He captained Liverpool for several years and famously led the team to a dramatic comeback win in the 2005 UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan.
Jamie Carragher, meanwhile, is also a club legend. Known for his strong defensive play and loyalty, Carragher spent his entire senior career at Liverpool and made over 700 appearances for the club.
Though both players are highly respected, Gerrard often gets the edge when it comes to being a fan favorite.
Along with her Gerrard pick, Charley Hull answered several other questions that offered a glimpse into her personality. She chose (via Your Golf Travel on YouTube in May 2016):
- Nandos over Chinese,
- Dogs over cats,
- Double cross over shank,
- Four putt over three off the tee,
- Stroke play over match play,
- Both when asked to pick between Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood,
- Tommy Fleetwood over Rory Anderson,
- World No. 1 over winning a major,
- Sun over snow for a holiday,
- One Direction over Justin Bieber,
- Rihanna over Beyoncé,
- Ryan Gosling over Ryan Reynolds.
