Well, that was quick.
The New York Giants are moving on from Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback already. Russ will be replaced by first-round rookie Jaxson Dart.
It has the potential to be an exciting new era for the Giants, who traded back into the first round in April to get Dart with the No. 25 overall pick out of Ole Miss.
And after a stellar preseason, Dart is now the starter heading into Week 4.
Wilson, who had a 450-yard game in Week 2 sandwiched by two mediocre outings, becomes the backup, for now.

What's next for Russell Wilson?
This could be the beginning of the end for Russell Wilson, or it could result in an upcoming detour.
This benching officially makes him the soon-to-be most-rumored QB as the NFL's Nov. 4 trade deadline approaches.
A team like the Bengals could use him right now with Joe Burrow out for months with a toe injury.
And if other injuries or ineffectiveness pop up, Wilson's name will quickly float into the picture.

He's never been a backup in his career when healthy. Even as a rookie, he took Matt Flynn's job essentially right away in Seattle and never gave it back.
The Giants probably don't mind having Wilson to back up Dart. He's got veteran know-how that should help the rookie navigate tough situations.
But it certainly wouldn't be surprising for Wilson to end this season in a different uniform.
