MrBeast reportedly uses the services of thousands of editors who clip snippets from his YouTube videos for social media. He pays them $50 per 100,000 views for each clip.

MrBeast, whose real name is James Stephen Donaldson, is one of the biggest YouTubers in the world, with almost 450 million subscribers. He also has a large audience on social media, spanning over millions of followers. He often uploads short snippets of his long YouTube videos on his social media accounts.

As per a report by Bloomberg, published on October 28, Donaldson pays the editors $50 per 10,000 views on these clips. These editors are part of the company Clipping, founded by Anthony Fujiwara in January 2023. They have thousands of editors who work for numerous YouTubers across the globe.

Meanwhile, as per Forbes, Donaldson has a net worth of $85 million. He has built a large empire through YouTube, but it isn't his only source of income. Donaldson has also developed multiple businesses in recent years.

He founded his candy brand, Feastables, in July 2021, and a fast-food chain. He also has a show named Beast Games on Amazon Prime, which has been renewed for two seasons.

Anthony Fujiwara launched Clipping in January 2021, and it has become a big name among YouTubers and many other creators. As per the aforementioned Bloomberg report, the company has generated $7.7 million in sales this year.

The company provides its services to various clients, who offer around $2,500 to $10,000 per month. Clipping, meanwhile, pays its editors around $300 to $1,500 per million views in every clip.

Fujiwara told Bloomberg:

“People used to buy commercials on TV, billboards, radio time slots. Clipping is that for the modern era. It’s buying space and time on people’s phones while they scroll.”

However, as per Complex, Donaldson launched a new video clipping platform named Vyro in October this year. It is aimed at connecting editors with brands and creators.

When MrBeast's former staff opened up about his editing demands

James Stephen Donaldson is known for creating large-scale videos that sometimes feature hundreds of other people or huge venues. He uses a large production setup to ensure nothing is missed and that the video delivers to his audience.

However, the YouTuber also has a very specific set of guidelines for the editing of his videos. A former member of his staff told Business Insider in an interview published on August 14 this year:

"He has very specific editing requirements for his editors, not just how much you get done or how fast, but how many seconds into a video are you showing the super funny thing that happens."

Part of this comes from YouTube analytics, where Donaldson often tracks the points where the viewers drop off from the video. Another former staff member said in the interview:

"I feel like in this day and age, so many content creators are trying to be him. But he will always be MrBeast. He has access to things that no one else does."

With his large-scale videos, Donaldson has made the most-followed YouTube channel at the moment. The second highest is T-Series with 306 million.
