What happened to Tacko Fall? Former NBA center dominates at 2026 Celebrity All-Star Game

1 hour ago 3

While watching the 2026 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game, it's hard to ignore the gigantic player Tacko Fall.

Fall had a dominant performance in the game, towering over most of his competition tallying 20 points and 21 rebounds in route to a victory for Team Giannis. However, he didn't win MVP after game. Instead that honor went to last years winner, Rome Flynn who scored 17 points on 3-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.

Perhaps Fall's amazing performance was expected. He played Division I college basketball at UCF, went toe-to-toe with Zion Williamson, and had a short NBA career after all.

The Sporting News provides all the details about Fall's impressive showing in the 2026 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game.

What happened to Tacko Fall?

While Tacko Fall made his first appearance stateside since his days as an NBA center for the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, the 7-foot-6 big man currently plays for the Ningbo Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), having signed with them on Aug. 29, 2025.

Since leaving the NBA after the 2021–22 season, he has played internationally both in China and Australia. In his latest CBA game on Feb. 3, 2026, he scored nine points and swatted away seven shots, helping his team secure the win against the Beijing Royal Fighters.

Is Tacko Fall in the NBA?

Fall is currently a center for the Ningbo Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), not an NBA team.

Although he's not an active NBA player anymore, Fall had a special moment in the spotlight Friday night in Inglewood, California.

How tall is Tacko Fall?

Fall stands at 7-foot-6, rendering him a formidable presence on the basketball court. During the 2019 NBA Draft Combine, he notably established multiple all-time records through his exceptional physical measurements.

Fall is officially one inch taller than Victor Wembanyama based on the latest measurements for the 2025–26 NBA and international standards.

Currently, he is tied for the third-tallest players to have ever participated in the NBA with Shawn Bradley and Yao Ming, trailing only Gheorghe Mureșan and Manute Bol, both of whom stand at 7-foot-7.

Is Tacko Fall a firefighter?

Fall isn’t a professional firefighter but in Sept. 2025 he took part in a "Firefighter for a Day" event with the Chicago Fire Department, which he featured on his YouTube channel.

The videos show the 7-foot-6 center trying to squeeze into firefighting gear and practicing rescue drills.

What is Tacko Fall's medical condition?

Fall is in good health and has no known long-term medical issues.

Although his impressive 7-foot-6-inch height might remind some of conditions like gigantism or acromegaly, Fall reassures that his tall stature is mainly due to his family genetics, with several tall relatives in his family tree.

However, unrelated to his height, Fall has been highly attentive to his eye health since childhood. He received his first pair of glasses at the age of five due to myopia (nearsightedness) and underwent the removal of a pituitary gland tumor at age 17.
