The Minnesota Twins got started against the Toronto Blue Jays early on Sunday, just before noon in Minneapolis.
The day was over early for starting pitcher Joe Ryan, too.
Ryan exited after just nine pitches.
It's not good news at all for the Twins and their front-end starter.

What happened to Joe Ryan?
Ryan was injured and had to leave the game.
He threw a fastball to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. that missed up and out of the zone for a walk, and after a moment, Ryan appeared to gesture to the dugout for attention to come out.
When the staff came out, they didn't actually check out any part of Ryan's body. He simply had a few words of explanation, and they decided to pull him.
That suggests there's something that's gone on before, but it's hard to know.
