Megyn Kelly has slammed Jamie Lee Curtis for her comments about Charlie Kirk following his death. She accused the actress of being 'dishonest' after she clarified that she didn't mean to talk about Kirk in a positive light.
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley Festival on September 10, 2025. He was a right-wing conservative activist and an author. Meanwhile, Jamie Lee Curtis appeared on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast in an episode published on September 15. Sharing her thoughts on Kirk's assassination, she said:
"I disagreed with [Kirk] on almost every point I ever heard him say. But I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died that he felt connected to his faith. Even though I find what his ideas were abhorrent to me, I still believe he's a father and a husband and a man of faith, and I hope whatever 'connection to God' means, that he felt it."However, after facing some backlash, she clarified her statement, saying (h/t Entertainment Weekly):
"I was talking about him in a very positive way, which I wasn't; I was simply talking about his faith in God."Megyn Kelly has now slammed Jamie Lee Curtis for her clarification on these comments. In the latest video on her YouTube channel on October 29, she said:
"We gave her credit at the time because, even though she has a trans kid, and recognized Charlie didn't — he was where I am on the trans issues — she recognized a man had been killed. That is completely dishonest. She walked this back because she clearly got blowback over it. Kelly said that Curtis' clarification "actively endangers those of us who are on the right and who are out here speaking to crowds and keep this conversation going."This notably stems from the fact that Jamie Lee Curtis is a mother to a trans daughter, Ruby Guest. She has also been supportive of liberal rights and trans rights. Meanwhile, Charlie Kirk was unsupportive of it and even described the trans community as a "contagion".

When asked if she should be careful with her words as a public figure, she denied it instantly.
However, Megyn Kelly responded to these claims, saying:
"If she really were this fearless person who would say anything — the consequences be damned." "She wouldn't feel such an urge to make sure people knew she was 'mistranslated' into people thinking that she wished him well, which she very much wants us to know she did not," she added.Charlie Kirk, meanwhile, had founded Turning Point USA, an organization that spreads and works on right-wing conservative ideas. He was speaking at a Turning Point USA event when he was shot on September 10.
