The San Francisco 49ers have undergone some major changes already this offseason, with Dre Greenlaw returning, Osa Odighizuwa being traded for, and Vederian Lowe signing as Trent Williams insurance in case of a trade.
But the far bigger change for the 49ers has been at wide receiver. Mike Evans signed a three-year deal worth over $40 million, and the 49ers also, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, have added Christian Kirk on a $6 million deal.
Following those two big additions, what does the 49ers depth chart look like for the 2026 season? It's a very different room than it looked like entering the season in 2025, as there are multiple faces off the roster, and a few new options for Brock Purdy as well.
49ers WR depth chart looks very different after Mike Evans and Christian Kirk additions
Mike Evans, Christian Kirk, and Ricky Pearsall make up the main three wide receivers for the 49ers. Behind those starters are Demarcus Robinson, Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing, Junior Bergen, Colton Dowell, and Malik Turner.
Technically, Brandon Aiyuk is still on the 49ers roster, but there's essentially zero chance that he comes back and plays for the 49ers in 2026. He'll either be cut or traded.
Aiyuk isn't the only big change from last year's wide receiver room. Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are both also off the roster currently.
Bourne has already signed with the Arizona Cardinals on a two-year deal, so the 49ers won't be able to bring him back.

Jennings, on the other hand, is still a free agent and could, in theory, return to the 49ers this offseason. It's incredibly unlikely, as Evans is taking his place, and Jennings will not be cheap to sign.
After the first week or so of free agency and the new league year, the 49ers have added two wide receivers, Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, to pair with Ricky Pearsall.
But the 49ers have lost, or will lose, three in Aiyuk, Bourne, and Jennings. John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan finding a wide receiver to draft in the first few rounds of the 2026 NFL draft wouldn't be a surprise.
While there is a lot of depth in the WR room, the 49ers could use another higher-upside WR. However, the 49ers do it, another WR being added is well within the expectation this offseason.
