The FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway will bring the NASCAR Cup Series to the Irish Hills this Sunday.
With momentum on his side and history in his sights, Carson Hocevar returns home after finishing in second place at Nashville. There's no better place to make your debut than at home, and the Portage, Michigan native is still after that elusive first Cup Series victory.
Hocevar has already experienced success this week when he took the checkered flag at the Berlin Raceway's Money in the Bank 150 Super Late Model race. The 21-year-old has two chances to win this weekend because he is competing in the Craftsman Truck Series event on Saturday.
However, Hocevar is not the only inhabitant of the Mitten State who wants to succeed. Brad Keselowski, a veteran from Rochester Hills, has 36 Cup Series victories, but he hasn't figured out the formula at Michigan. Erik Jones, Byron's own, is aiming to turn the applause from the crowd into champagne showers as he chases his first hometown victory.
