Old Dominion (4-1) is hitting the road this weekend for a massive Sun Belt showdown against Marshall (2-3) at Joan C. Edwards Stadium .
The Monarchs are riding high after steamrolling Coastal Carolina 47-7 in what was nothing short of a statement win. Their defense was lights-out, holding the Chanticleers to just 189 total yards, the fewest ever allowed to an FBS opponent in ODU history.
Old Dominion kicked off their season with a 27-14 defeat at Indiana in Week 1 but have bounced back impressively, stringing together four consecutive win, including a marquee victory on the road against Virginia Tech.
For the second straight week, ODU will meet a team fresh off a bye. Marshall hasn't taken the field since a heartbreaker two weeks ago, when it dropped a 54-51 double-overtime thriller to Louisiana.
Quarterback Colton Joseph was the star of the show in last week's romp, torching Coastal's defense with 315 passing yards and four touchdown tosses, matching his career best. He even showed off his wheels, scampering for 66 yards on seven carries, highlighted by a 50-yard touchdown sprint that stretched the lead to 41-0 early in the third quarter.
