After starting the 2025 season with championship expectations, Clemson and Penn State will end the year with a battle in the Pinstripe Bowl.
The Nittany Lions (6-6) landed at No. 2 in the preseason AP poll, but a brutal six-game losing streak crushed any College Football Playoff dreams. Penn State managed to win its last three Big Ten matchups against Michigan State, Nebraska and Rutgers in order to become eligible for a bowl game.
Clemson (7-5) followed a similar path, falling from No. 4 to unranked after dropping three of its first four games. The Tigers beat Florida State, Louisville, Furman and South Carolina down the stretch to avoid a losing season.
