Carlos Alcaraz recently shared a lighthearted moment with ATP Tour rival and friend Flavio Cobolli, several videos of which subsequently surfaced online. In one of them, Alcaraz was seen sporting one or two new tattoos on his arm. However, the view of it was rather unclear, leading to either criticism from tennis fans or their opinions on what they think the tattoos are all about.

Alcaraz, the reigning World No. 1 from Spain, and Cobolli, the ATP No. 22 from Italy, recently came together for an on-court training session in Murcia, the Spaniard's hometown. Here, Cobolli was recorded running around the court with Alcaraz on his back.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter), who was particularly attentive to the intricate details of the video, noticed Carlos Alcaraz's left arm tattoo, and subsequently, more fans joined the discussion.

"I need to have a word with his tattoo artist, cause.... What am I looking at 😭???," one fan asked. "It looks ugly now but if it IS actually a new tattoo I’m pretty sure it’s because of the medical plastic wrap that tattoo artists put on! it stays on for a few days and collects the ink, blood, and plasma that oozes out and it can make it look gross. source: my own tattoos lol," commented another. "Charlie dear can you share with the class what that is?😭," another fan chimed in. "Statue of liberty or brooklyn bridge 🤔🤔," one wondered. "What the f is this gonna be 😭," added another. "Is it a skyscraper or something 😭😭," weighed in yet another fan.

Carlos Alcaraz won the sixth singles Major title of his career at the 2025 US Open after overcoming rival Jannik Sinner in the men's singles final. In the aftermath of the result, the Spaniard remembered how his maiden taste of Grand Slam success at the 2022 US Open inspired him to get a tattoo of the date he defeated Casper Ruud in the final in New York.

He also claimed that his 2025 triumph at Flushing Meadows would lead to two new tattoos based on a bet he had; one of the Brooklyn Bridge and the other of the Statue of Liberty.

"Well, I said it will be the first Major at the 2022 US Open. It was just the date, and I had to do something. I will likely do two things for my second US Open trophy because I had a bet at the beginning of the tournament. The Brooklyn Bridge and, obviously, the Statue of Liberty," Alcaraz told ESPN.

Irrespective of the discussions surrounding Carlos Alcaraz's tattoos, there has been plenty of serious talk recently about the Spaniard's tennis career going forward, with the World No. 1 having ended his longstanding collaboration with Juan Carlos Ferrero.
