Wendy Osefo once gave a heartfelt interview about the 2024 home robbery that police now claim she allegedly used to defraud insurance companies.

In a resurfaced clip from her Sept. 2024 sit-down on the “Gabbing With Gib” podcast, the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star said she was “just so heartbroken” over the alleged burglary.

She claimed the April 2024 incident took place when she and her family were on Spring Break vacation in Jamaica, shortly before cameras picked back up for Season 9 of the Bravo series.

“I think a few of my first initial scenes, I’m just a little bit uneasy because we had just been violated, so to speak,” Osefo, now 41, said at the time of returning to reality TV post-alleged robbery.

“It was the worst thing. It was so unexpected, especially since — from my vantage point and from the investigators’ vantage point — it was targeted.”

The businesswoman said that she had lived in her neighborhood for 20 years and no burglary had ever happened there before, which is why she felt the alleged suspects sought her out.

“My first thought was my kids. Part of the reason why I live where I live is for their safety, for them to have ample acres, you know, to be able to run, play, enjoy, free of anything,” she added.

“I’m just glad that we are OK. We’re safe, and we are able to move forward from that as a family, but man, that was definitely gut-wrenching.”

Osefo also claimed in the interview that the experience changed her lifestyle, claiming she heightened security in her home to be like US military base Fort Knox and was careful of what she posted online.

However, it was the Bravo star’s social media activity that reportedly caught the police’s attention.

After the alleged burglary, her husband, Edward “Eddie” Osefo filed claims with two insurance company, and revised one of the reports to allege that his wife’s gold diamond anniversary band had gone missing.

Per court documents, the change in the report raised red flags to the authorities, particularly because Wendy was later spotted via social media wearing what appeared to be the same ring to an event.

They also flagged other suspicious findings, including that the couple set up a home alarm system before they left for their trip but then “no motion [was] detected inside the residence” during the alleged break-in.

Additionally, police reportedly discovered that many of the “stolen” items were returned to the store, “where a full refund was provided prior to the alleged burglary.”

Eddie and Wendy signed statements claiming $450,000 in personal property loss, per the court docs.
