Lamar Jackson and Zay Flowers' Baltimore Ravens are set to battle Tua Tagovailoa's Miami Dolphins in primetime, and the contest is set up to be a feast. Both teams have plenty of reason to believe their offense can carry the day, setting the stage for an exciting matchup. However, for fantasy football managers, it is also set up to be one of the most lucrative matchups of the week.
However, you must choose correctly to benefit. Luckily, Sportskeeda is here to help. Here's a look at who you need to start and sit in Week 9's TNF contest.

There is no shortage of players worth starting in the contest. Lamar Jackson has been practicing for roughly a week, dating back to Week 8, so he shouldn't be rusty.
He also wasn't rushed back into the lineup, so his health should be in great shape. He also indicated that he was in perfect health, saying he "felt great" on Tuesday, per Ravens media. Jackson was an MVP finalist in 2024, and for all intents and purposes, this is his Week 1.
With Jackson back and facing a leaky Miami Dolphins defense that ranks 23rd in yards allowed per game, it's a perfect opportunity for Zay Flowers and Derrick Henry.
The Ravens also have a leaky secondary, trailing most of the league in yards allowed per game. As such, De'Von Achane and Tua Tagovailoa are worth starting in the matchup. Jaylen Waddle is also worth a start as the Dolphins are likely to find themselves in either a shootout or trailing for much of the contest.
Must Starts
- De'Von Achane
- Tua Tagovailoa
- Jaylen Waddle
- Ollie Gordon II
- Lamar Jackson
- Derrick Henry
- Zay Flowers

Mark Andrews at Chicago Bears v Baltimore Ravens - NFL 2025 - Source: GettyWhile plenty of Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens fantasy football players are set to eat on Thursday Night Football, there are some players to be avoided. The most obvious no-no is to start either Miami or Baltimore's defenses.
With the game likely to be a shootout, both defenses are at risk of finishing with a negative night, which could tank your chances before the week begins. Another player you are warned against starting is tight end Tanner Conner. Some may argue that after seeing Darren Waller wide open earlier this season, Tua Tagovailoa could have slipped into a habit that could lead to Conner capitalizing.
However, Conner has not capitalized thus far, and with weapons like Jaylen Waddle and De'Von Achane staring down a struggling Ravens defense, Tagovailoa likely won't get to a deep enough read to give Conner usable production.
Lamar Jackson is not likely to target Mark Andrews much, as Zay Flowers and Derrick Henry are likely to see the ball in the biggest moments.
Must Sits
