As fantasy football managers know, Week 8 was surprising for some tight ends like Jake Ferguson in the worst way, but was exactly what the doctor ordered in the case of Tucker Kraft. More than any other flex position, tight ends tend to be available on the waiver wire. As such, fantasy football managers stand a chance of getting a top tight end for essentially free.

Are any of the top players available on your waiver wire? Where does your starting tight end rank in the grand scale of things this week? Here's a look at the best tight ends in the NFL for Week 9.

Tucker Kraft vs CAR

Last week, Sportskeeda projected Tucker Kraft to have the best tight end performance of the week. He certainly didn't shrink from the pressure, delivering seven catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Don't expect the same type of explosion, but if there's a tight end with a chest-high floor, it is Kraft.

The Panthers had lots of trouble stopping the Buffalo Bills in Week 8, allowing Khalil Shakir to run roughshod over them. If Kraft is the de facto top receiver heading into the contest, the Panthers will be unable to stop him as well. Fantasy Football managers who started Kraft can simply let it ride this week.

Jake Ferguson vs ARI

Jake Ferguson had a dominant first half of the season before running into a buzzsaw against the Denver Broncos. The Dallas Cowboys had not beaten Denver since the 1990s, even during the team's skid post-Super Bowl 50. Now, the tight end faces a passing defense that has been far from stiff this season.

Fantasy managers shouldn't panic and bench Ferguson. The Dallas Cowboys are set to face the Arizona Cardinals, who have allowed the eighth most yards per game this season. Trust the star tight end, and he will reward you. If you bench him, the stage is set for a facepalm so loud he might hear it on the field.

Travis Kelce @BUF

Travis Kelce, like Patrick Mahomes, saves his best for the biggest moments. Kelce started to turn it up a notch in Week 8 and is set for a big role against the Buffalo Bills. Expect at least one Kelce spike in the endzone against the Bills, regardless of the team's quality pass defense.

The Kansas City Chiefs are starting to look like themselves once again and face one of their biggest rivals. Kelce won't shrink from the moment one week after tying Priest Holmes' franchise touchdown record and sitting as tight end with the fifth-most touchdown receptions in NFL history, according to NFL Media.
