Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham threw a subtle jab at the WNBA’s pay scale and floated a bold take on a different career path. She made this statement when she appeared on a Sunday episode of “Sundae Conversation” with Caleb Pressley.

Cunningham asserted that she’s good at the 3-point shot because she’s paid to be good. She was then asked by Pressley if she actually gets paid, leading to her subtle diss aimed at the league.

“You know, barely,” Cunningham said. “But we’re still surviving.”

The Fever guard also talked about having another plan if her career in the WNBA ends.

“Not Plan A, Project B,” she said. “I think you need the league cuz that’s what gives you the platform to have all these fans. … Maybe Plan B should support that platform (OnlyFans).”

The WNBA and the players led by its union, the WNBPA, are actively negotiating a new CBA to replace the previous deal that expired after multiple extensions. WNBPA President and Seattle Storm forward Nneka Ogwumike wants a fair deal that values players appropriately, but says negotiations remain in the early stages and collaboration is needed to meet the deadline.

Both sides are currently divided on negotiations, according to reports. With the deadline approaching, both sides will have to either come to an agreement or extend the deadline in order to prevent an unprecedented strike from the players.

Sophie Cunningham guesses rival Angel Reese in Post-it notes game

Sophie Cunningham guessed Chicago Sky star and rival Angel Reese in a Post-it note game during the appearance on the "Sundae Conversation" show.

"Am I a sports figure?" Cunningham said. "Do I play against this person? Am I Angel Reese. ... I just knew you guys were going to do something like that."

The rivalry between Angel Reese and Cunningham's teammate Caitlin Clark has contributed to the league's surge in popularity. However, Sophie Cunningham publicly acknowledged Reese's impact on the WNBA, asserting that she also deserves the same recognition as Clark.
