Watch: Luke Littler hits nine-darter in one of the greatest legs of all time against Josh Rock

Luke Littler and Josh Rock produced one of the greatest legs we have ever seen, in their World Matchplay of Darts semifinal game.

Jonny Clayton and James Wade had an incredible first semifinal game that required a tiebreaker scenario, but Rock and Littler were able to one-up their contest.

Luke Littler hits insane nine-darter against Josh Rock

Luke Littler has hit several nine-darters in his career before tonight, but Saturday night's nine-darter against Josh Rock was much more special.

Littler was 'on throw' during the leg, meaning he threw first.

Both Littler and Rock hit 180s during their two visits to the oche, both leaving 141.

Since Littler was 'on throw', he had the first crack at 141, which he hit for the nine-dart finish.

Rock didn't even get the chance to try and hit the 141 checkout for a nine.

This was similar to the leg between Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith back in their 2023 World Championship final game.

Both players were on nine-darters through six legs, but van Gerwen missed double-12 on his third visit.

Smith capitalized on the miss, hitting a nine-darter just a visit to the oche after van Gerwen almost denied Smith the chance to try.

Denying the chance was exactly what Littler did to Rock, so we will never know if he would have hit the nine-darter himself.

Wayne Mardle was on commentary for Littler's nine tonight, and was also on commentary back in 2023 for the MVG/Smith final.

Mardle said, "THAT IS THE SECOND BEST LEG YOU WILL EVER SEE IN YOUR LIFE!"

At the time, Mardle said the Michael Smith nine-darter was the greatest leg of darts you will ever see in your life, which still stands.

The drama between the MVG miss and the fact that it was during the biggest game of the year makes it impossible to beat, even up against the unprecedented circumstance that happened tonight.
