Andy Murray's exasperation was quite visible after getting bowled while trying his hand Kevin Pietersen's fun task for him. The former accepted the latter's cricket challenge of ultimately trying to hit a ball coming at him at 100 mph.

Pietersen captured the whole thing for his Youtube channel, The Switch. He put Murray to bat, and with the aid of a bowling machine, initially set the speed to 50 mph for the first delivery.

Every time Murray hit the ball, the speed would gradually increase. His first attempt was a swing and a miss, which didn't lead to a faster ball on his next try. He managed to hit the ball on his second try, which increased the speed to 55 mph for his next attempt.

Murray struggled with the ever-increasing pace of the ball. However, with some tips from Pietersen, he managed to keep hitting the ball despite his displeasure with his own technique. Murray eventually got bowled because of a 69 mph delivery.

The challenge wasn't over at that point. Murray had a total of three lives in the game, and he was still very much in it. He got bowled again thanks to a 73 mph ball after a while. Pietersen wanted him to get to 80 mph, and Murray came quite close to achieving that.

Murray eventually got bowled for the last time on account of a 79 mph delivery. With no more chances left to complete the challenge, he threw his bat in frustration to the ground. Here's a shortened clip of the same:

Despite the abject frustration at his failure, Murray knew it was all in good faith. He's quite friendly with Pietersen, and they have hung out socially from time to time as well.

Andy Murray retired from tennis in 2024 following an appearance at the Paris Olympics. He has kept himself occupied with personal and professional ventures since hanging up his racket for good. He even returned to tennis, albeit as former rival Novak Djokovic's coach, for a while in early 2025.

Murray has also taken up golfing. Shortly after his retirement, he engaged in a game of golf with Gareth Bale, Kevin Pietersen, and businessman Warren Kweiwere at the exclusive Queenwood Golf Club on the outskirts of London.

Golfing isn't simply a recreational activity for Murray these days. He even claimed a trophy last year, coming out on top at the BTJA Mike Dickson Golf Day in October 2024.
