While in the middle of the WNBA offseason, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been dabbling in other sports, including the NFL. On the New Heights podcast with brothers Joe and Travis Kelce, Clark expressed her feelings on the return of Philip Rivers to the Indianapolis Colts.
According to Clark, she was astonished seeing Rivers return to the field after five years, but she feared for the NFL legend's health, particularly his Achilles.
"You got to give him a lot of credit and he was pretty good," Clark said. "I was worried he's like going to pop an Achilles."Clark was so shocked when she learned about Rivers' return that she thought it was just fake news.
"Obviously, when I first saw that online, I was like 'oh, that's got to be fake news' because there's so much fake news out there these days," she said.Rivers, who is currently 44 years old, has a career spanning 16 years from 2004 to 2020 before returning to the Colts this season. He is an eighth-time Pro Bowler.
Meanwhile, Clark has always been in support of Indiana sports. In the 2025 NBA Finals, she was also seen supporting the Indiana Pacers against the OKC Thunder, albeit in a losing effort.
This comes after Clark's injury-riddled second season in the WNBA, where she only appeared in 13 games and put up 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game.
Despite her injury, she watched as the Fever marched to the WNBA semifinals, pushing the eventual Las Vegas Aces to five games.
Caitlin Clark opens up on injury-riddled 2025
Caitlin Clark's career has seen numerous setbacks in the past year after picking up numerous injuries and spending most of the year in recovery.
In her podcast appearance with the Kelce siblings, she opened up about how injury defined her past 12 months.
"So, it was just obviously a long and, like, tough year of recurring injuries. And you guys know how that goes," she said. "It was a long process to just get back on the court." "Because when you have the groins and the quads and whatever you're dealing with, it's like you don't run for a while. So, like, it's weird, like, learning to run again in a way."As she continues to recover, 2026 is expected to be a bounce-back year for Clark as the Fever remains one of the early contenders for the WNBA title this season.
