The Golden State Warriors hold a 3-2 series lead over the Houston Rockets ahead of Game 6. The Warriors lost to the Rockets, 131-116, on Wednesday night to give Houston at least one more opportunity.
To make things even worse, Warriors star Stephen Curry is dealing with a thumb injury that clearly bothered him. On Wednesday night, Curry shot just 4-of-12 from the field with a 3-of-9 clip from 3-point land with a total of just 13 points in a strange outing.
But, the Warriors were at one point down 31 points in the third quarter, which led Steve Kerr to pull his starters and prepare for Game 6 instead.
Still, the injury to Curry is a concern, although the Warriors star didn't discuss it too much. In his postgame press conference, Curry was asked about the state of his thumb:
"Cold," he replied as his hand was wrapped in ice.
— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) May 1, 2025Charles Barkley also couldn't believe what Curry's thumb looked like as a picture os his swollen hand surfaced the internet.
— NBA on TNT (@NBAonTNT) May 1, 2025Curry added some more info on his injury after the Game 5 loss: "I don't even know how to answer that. Just something you're dealing with and you keep it moving. As long as I can play. You've got a wrap for a reason but that's it."
For now, all the focus is on Game 6, which is Friday night in California.
